A Tragic Incident: Boy Charged with Murder After Love Triangle Involving 15-Year-Old Girl

In a devastating turn of events, an 18-year-old boy from Mberengwa has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 24-year-old man within Northwood Suburbs on the night of October 16, 2023. The incident unfolded as a result of a love triangle involving a 15-year-old girl.

According to reports, the deceased, Kisto Manyause (24), and the girl in question were co-tenants who developed feelings for one another. Unfortunately, the girl also developed a romantic connection with John Ray Zulu, the current suspect in this case. This unrequited love angered Manyause, who allegedly threatened Zulu with unspecified action.

During the night of October 16, 2023, Zulu entered the girlfriend’s room armed with an okapi knife and remained there throughout the night. The following morning, on October 17, 2023, at approximately 4:55 a.m., Zulu crossed paths with Manyause in the passage, leading to a heated confrontation. During the altercation, Zulu pulled out a knife from his pocket, stabbed Manyause twice, and quickly fled the scene. Manyause suffered severe bleeding and lost consciousness.

Inspector Emanuel Mahoko, spokesperson for the Zimbabwe Republic Police, confirmed the arrest and issued a statement regarding the incident. “Upon arrival at the scene, ZRP Mberengwa discovered that Kisto Manyause had already passed away. The suspect was subsequently apprehended, and Manyause’s body currently awaits a post-mortem examination at Mberengwa Hospital Mortuary,” stated Insp Mahoko.

Additionally, the police took this opportunity to address young girls, urging them to avoid engaging in premature sexual relationships due to the potential dangers they pose. “We implore young girls to refrain from entering into premature sexual relationships, as they often lead to tragic outcomes. We also appeal to the public to resolve disputes amicably and respect the value of human life,” added Inspector Emanuel Mahoko.

This heart-wrenching incident occurs during a time where an increasing number of young individuals are resorting to drastic measures, such as self-harm, as a result of being spurned in love. Cases of suicide have been on the rise since the start of the year, with love-related issues being a common contributing factor.
